A throwback photo from Ranbir Kapoor’s sister Riddhima Kapoor Sahni’s wedding is going viral on the internet. The picture has Riddhima, her husband Bharat and brother Ranbir sharing the frame. While the bride and groom look gorgeous, it is the innocence on Ranbir’s face that stole our attention. The talented actor, dressed in an embroidered bandhgala, looks dapper. His shiny, golden pagdi is definitely one of the highlights of the picture.
Riddhima and Bharat got married on January 25, 2006. It was almost two years before Ranbir made his acting debut with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya, co-starring Sonam Kapoor. The film had released on November 9, 2007 alongside the Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone-starrer Om Shanti Om.
The Kapoors are currently going through difficult times as they recently lost Rishi Kapoor. The veteran actor breathed his last on April 30 after battling blood cancer for more than a year. He was 67. His final journey was a limited affair, courtesy the coronavirus pandemic. The last rites were conducted amid the presence of close family members and friends from the film fraternity.
Riddhima, who lives in Delhi, could not be a part of the funeral. However, after taking special permission from the Delhi Police, she left for Mumbai via road and reached there on May 3 with her daughter.
The Kapoors recently immersed Rishi Kapoor’s ashes in Banganga. The ritual was performed amid the presence of Ranbir, Riddhima, Rishi’s wife Neetu, Ranbir’s close friend Ayan Mukerji and his girlfriend Alia Bhatt.
Rishi, who was last seen in The Body, had starred in a number of critically-acclaimed films in the recent years including Love Aaj Kal, Agneepath, D-Day, Do Dooni Chaar, Shuddh Desi Romance, Mulk and 102 Not Out, among many others.
